Hockey Players For Kids - HP4K
Hockey Players for Kids (HP4K) is the formal program that facilitates the visits of Greenville Road Warriors into Upstate South Carolina schools. It is a program created to empower professional hockey players to volunteer within the community while making a positive impact among children. Through visits to hospitals, schools, and community events, the players will talk about topics from health and wellness to reading awareness. Talking Points
     
  Where the players are from and a description of the area, how long they’ve been playing hockey, etc.

  The daily routine of a player, including what they eat for each meal and how that helps them stay in game shape.
  How they prepare for each hockey game, including stretching and warming up and exercising all the muscles in their body.
  The importance of rest, getting a good night’s sleep and having a healthy balance in their life.
  Healthy diet and eating habits.
  The importance of being active every day.
  Teamwork and the importance of being a good sport.
     
Student Interaction

The players will also take time during the program to quiz the students on things like the food pyramid, various stretches, and more. They will also have prizes and rewards for the students and have them stand up and demonstrate stretches during the program. Finally, we will give the students a voucher for a buy one, get one free ticket to an upcoming Road Warriors game so that they can come and see their new favorite players in action!
